The Finished King Sized Swoon Quilt

The King Sized Swoon Quilt is finished and has been delivered to it's new home at my Aunt and Uncle's house where it was immediately placed on their bed. :)

This quilt is 106" square. In the photo above my husband and son are standing on our front deck and as you can see the quilt is touching the ground and reaches up to the downspout coming from the eaves trough. This is the largest quilt I have ever made.

All the fabrics in the quilt top are Kona Solids. The background is Kona Nightfall as is the binding. This quilt is made with the Swoon pattern by Camille Roskelley of Thimble Blossoms. The Swoon quilt has 9 squares. I made seven more to make the quilt four squares by four squares. (The squares are 24")

The backing is Alison Glass wide back from her "Diving Board" line with mermaids and octopuses on it. The batting is wool batting so I hope it is warm and cozy.

The colours in this quilt are based on the artwork in the book "O Canada" by Canadian artist Ted Harrison. This was at the request of my Aunt and Uncle who enjoy his artwork. Cutting, piecing and binding the quilt took 38.25 hours.

The quilt was long arm quilted at Extraordinary Extras in Vermilion, Alberta with a feathers and paisleys design.
