Valentine and Sew Stitchy Baby Quilts

Hello! Happy New Year! I have been sewing my heart out over the holidays while my husband is home to help with the three kiddos. I have two finished baby quilts to show you, two more quilts are basted (see Instagram links at the bottom of this post) and ready to quilt and several more are cut out. Whew!

First up is a sweet little Valentine themed baby quilt.

This quilt top is made entirely of Art Gallery Fabrics which are known among quilters to be very soft to the touch. It is backed with a Riley Blake flannel, also very soft. I used fabrics from four Art Gallery Fabrics designers and they go really well together!

This quilt is available to purchase here.

Here it is in a crib for size reference. I called this one Hearts in the Neighbourhood because the sashing strips have little neighbourhood houses on them.

Then I made a matching table runner/wall hanging out of all the off-cuts from the hearts.

I called this one "Chevron Arrows" for the shapes on it. I like the graphic appeal of it.

I have been cleaning and organizing my house over the holidays and in doing so I located not only the fat quarters used in the projects above but also my collection of "Sew Stitchy" by Aneela Hoey. I am a bit embarrassed to say that I bought these fabrics to "sew something for the shop" in 2013! So here we are in 2017 and I've finally sewn something for the shop.

These fabrics are so adorable! I would love to keep this quilt but my little toddler has so many. And you know... these kids! They always want to be fed! So this quilt is up for sale here.

Close ups of the fabrics. Originally I had thought I might embroider some of them but given that I've had them this long and still haven't done that I don't think that will happen. They do have the look of hand embroidery though.

The entire quilt is made of Sew Stitchy including the backing and the binding.

I love these fabrics so much so I am a bit sad to see them leave my stash but I am happy they are finally made into something that hopefully a little person somewhere will love as much as I do.

Thank you for visiting my blog today! I have a Heart lap quilt and a Scrappy Rainbow Dino quilt basted and ready to quilt next.
