Blogger's Quilt Festival Entry in the Baby Quilt Category

This is my entry into the Blogger's Quilt Festival - Baby Quilt Category. I made this quilt out of several batik charm squares which I arranged in rainbow colour order as best I could (the pink doesn't really fit in the rainbow but I put it in with the purples) and created this zigzag pattern using white background fabric.

I listed this shop for sale in my Etsy shop and it was well received on the site and was even added to a few Treasury lists. (I actually just sold this quilt last week!) I kept the quilting simple by just following along the zigzags in the white fabric.

Here is a close-up of some of the fabrics. It was really fun to work with so many bright vibrant colours making them pop with the white. I am proud of this creation. Thanks for stopping by to check it out. Make sure to check out the other entries in the Festival and vote for your favorites starting Nov. 1.

  1. Great use of those batiks! A fun chevron, for sure!

  2. Love this! I love a rainbow baby quilt and this is a clever way to design it. I also made a HST quilt but in just blue and white - so found over in the two color quilt section. This is a great idea though! I enjoyed this quick quilt design so much, maybe I'll make one like your rainbow quilt someday soon. You did an excellent job!!!

  3. Love your rainbow zigzag quilt! Very clever use of your colors!

  4. Very nice - I think the red-yellow zig-zag is my very favourite. But the whole thing is really lovely! Were you scared upon washing? When I did a similar rainbow zig-zag on white quilt I put a tonne of colour catchers into the wash :)
