I am so excited to be featured in the Quilter's Corner segment of the new podcast show Canadian Quilt Talk. I submitted a humorous quilting story and I won a jelly roll from Flare Fabrics. Flare Fabrics is the sponsor of today's show. My story is at the beginning of today's podcast. You can find a link to the podcast at the Explore Fibre blog or you can search for "Canadian Quilt Talk" on iTunes. The main topic of today's podcast is fabric and how to choose quality quilting fabric. As a Canadian show I think it is of particular interest to Canadians but the advice on choosing fabric is great for all quilters, especially those just starting their quilting journey.
The story I sent in is a bit embarrassing but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do for quilting fabric. Am I right? ;) My story is entitled "How Far Would You Go For Fabric?" I will say that this story happened 10 years ago but it seems to be a lucky story since it brought me free fabric back then and also now with the jelly roll. The photo below is the dock in the story. I hope you get a little laugh out of it if you do listen in. :)
This photo was taken on the Labour Day weekend last fall when the water was unusually high.
