Finished Swell Quilt Top - Opinions on Borders Please

I am linking up with Fabric Tuesday today for the first time. If you have clicked over to my blog from there - Welcome! If not, there's a button for it in my button bar so you can click over there to see more projects. I hope it's okay that this quilt is not completely finished but the body of the quilt top is finished. I am wanting to get opinions from my fellow quilters on how I should do the borders.

I started this "Swell" quilt from Camille Roskelley's new book "Simply Retro" on Saturday and had this quilt top done on Monday morning. I decided to join the "Simply Retro Quilt Along" and this is the first project.

I used a Moda Scrap Bag of Ruby by Bonnie & Camille for Moda. I bought this scrap bag simply because it was Ruby and I had no idea what I was going to do with it. Then is project came along and voila! The only problem was that there was not enough fabric to make the quilt the same size as the one in the book. I also used a few strips of a piece of "Bliss" yardage (that's Bliss in the top corner with the clothes pin).

The quilt in the book has one more vertical row down the side than mine for a total of 20 blocks while mine has 15 blocks. Thus, mine is quite long and skinny. So here is my question: Should I add extra borders down the sides to fatten it up? Or leave it as is and just add the 2 inch inner border and 6 inch outer border as it is in the book? It is still the same width as my charm square quilts I made in January so it is fully functional as a lap quilt.

I do love these fabrics. I am so glad I finally put them into a quilt. Thank you for visiting and I would value your opinion about the borders. :)
