Here is my "Light Bright" quilt made with Chicopee by Denyse Schmidt. This quilt was made to use up scraps left from my "Hashtag Quilt" which was recently raffled off by my local Military Family Resource Centre (a non-profit organization) and raised over $700.00.

The colours really pop in the bright sun so that's what made me think of "Light Brights" from when I was a kid.
The backing is this very cook and funky IKEA fabric it is a whole piece of cloth with no seams.
A closer look at the backing. I quilted the quilt with 28 weight Aurifil cotton thread which is a heavier weight of thread so the stitches really show up.
A stripey binding of course. I love stripes on binding.

I also sewed this mini quilt for the May birthday girl in my #CanuckBirthdayClub. She loves modern and she loves Carolyn Friedlander so I came up with this design using all Carolyn Friedlander fabrics. I am calling it "Horizon Lines". To me, it's like looking through ship's portals at the ocean horizon line in different lights or different parts of the world. The squiggly quilting lines make me thing of water vapour rising from the ocean's surface.

This is the backing. It's loaded in sideways here. The label should be on the left. But you get the idea. :) This is a Lotta Jansdotter fabric.
